The town of S’Arenal is situated very close to the airport just to the east and is 11km/7miles by car from Palma airport, it takes approximately 12 minutes.
Palma airport taxis wait in front of arrivals on the ground floor. Usually there are lots of taxis waiting at the airport so it makes taking a taxi an easy option. Although at peak times passengers may have to queue.
Parking in and around S’Arenal center during the the summer can be a little tricky. Therefore a taxi transfer helps avoid problems of parking driving.
Taxis have fixed prices but it’s always best to get an estimate as there are variables which can add to the final fare.
A Taxi for 1-4 persons to S’Arenal is approximately €19. Taxi prices can range depending on the company, the time of day, the season/holidays and the amount of luggage.
The majority of airport taxis at Palma will only be able to take 4 passengers per taxi. So for parties of five, if there are no larger taxis available you will need a second taxi. This also applies even if one in the group is a small child or a baby. Hence two taxis will cost double.
Taxis at Palma airport don’t necessarily have child safety seats on hand. Drivers may be able to borrow these from colleagues but this is not a guarantee.
A pre-booked private taxi transfer is probably the most comfortable way to get from Palma airport to S’Arenal. Pre-booked transfer can be booked all through the night or any time of the day usually for the same price.

The bus journey time from Palma airport to S’Arenal is around 30-35 minutes. The bus cost €3, under 5’s are free.
Buses leave from the airport roughly every 22 minutes on average but after 20:30 only every 30 minutes. All buses have the next stop on an electronic display system. Mallorcan buses are comfortable and air-conditioned.
From the airport take the bus route No.21 to S’Arenal. It’s fairly easy to catch a bus a Palma airport as there are just two bus routes from the airport. Route No.1 to Palma city and Palma Port and route No.21 to S’Arenal
Bus route No.21 has additional stops including several hotels. It goes departs Palma airport towards Can Pastilla and then along the Playa de Palma and onto S’Arenal.
The total length of the route takes roughly 33 minutes, although it isn’t that far there are a lot of stops along the way.
For the return from S’Arenal the bus will return on the same route to the airport but will not return through the center of Can Pastilla.
From Palma airport to S’Arenal: 7:00am to 22:10
From S’Arena to Palma airport: 7:00am to 21:30
From Palma airport to S’Arenal: 7:00am to 00:30am
From S’Arena to Palma airport: 7:00am to 01:00am
If you do choose to hire a car from Palma airport for your trip to S’Arenal your will find it very easy to get to your destination.
When you exit Mallorca airport take the main highway eastbound following signs for Platja de Palma/Santanyí and merge onto the Ma-19. If your hire car was from one of the car hire companies to the east of the airport then you will join the Ma-19 heading towards Santanyí one junction nearer to your destination.
Once on the Ma-19 follow signs for Santanyí. After approximately 6.5km/4miles take exit 13 toward S’Arenal/Cala Blava.
Continue onto Ma-6014 until the roundabout after 1.5km/1mile, then take the 1st exit and after a few hundred metres you will practically be in S’Arenal!
