Palma airport taxis wait in front of arrivals on the ground floor. Usually, there are lots of taxis waiting at the airport so it makes taking a taxi an easy option. Although at peak times passengers may have to queue.
Parking in and around S’Arenal centre during the summer can be a little tricky. Therefore a taxi transfer helps avoid problems of parking and driving.
Taxis have fixed prices but it’s always best to get an estimate as there are variables which can add to the final fare.
A Taxi for 1-4 persons to S’Arenal is approximately €19. Taxi prices can range depending on the company, the time of day, the season/holidays and the amount of luggage.
The majority of airport taxis at Palma will only be able to take 4 passengers per taxi. So for parties of five, if there are no larger taxis available you will need a second taxi. This also applies even if one in the group is a small child or a baby. Hence two taxis will cost double.
Taxis at Palma airport don’t necessarily have child safety seats on hand. Drivers may be able to borrow these from colleagues but this is not a guarantee.
A pre-booked private taxi transfer is probably the most comfortable way to get from Palma airport to S’Arenal. A pre-booked transfer can be booked all through the night or any time of the day usually for the same price.
Private transfer vehicles are often luxury vehicles but often work out cheaper especially for larger parties.
Vehicles typically come in sizes of 1-4 cars, 1-7 minivans or 8-20 minibuses. In most cases, it’s possible to book a vehicle large enough for your party. Some websites even hire private coaches for very large groups.
However, due to the nature of the pre-booked taxi license, private transfers do need to be booked and don’t operate like regular taxis. If you want to guarantee availability you will need to book at least 24hours ahead of time.
Some pluses with a private transfer are that drivers will meet passengers with a name placard in the airport’s public arrivals hall and usually help with luggage.
It’s also possible to book child safety seats in advance.
