When you arrive at Palma Airport, take Exit C in the middle of the arrivals’ hall and the taxi rank will be directly in front of you. All taxis in Mallorca calculate fares using a taximeter and are easy to spot as they are all painted white with a distinct yellow and red stripe on the front doors and bonnet.
Taxis in Mallorca are forbidden to carry any more than four passengers and that includes children, no matter what age they are. If you are travelling as a family, it might mean you having to take two taxis which can be quite expensive.
👍TIP: For families and groups pre-book a private airport transfer!
Taxi rates increase in the evenings, at night, at weekends and on bank holidays. All fares originating or terminating at Palma Airport incur a surcharge.
Palma Airport is the third largest in Spain after Barcelona and Madrid and can be very busy during the summer season. Due to the increase of passengers and a set number of taxis you may end up having to wait in a queue until a taxi becomes available.
❗️ With such a high demand for taxis, unlicensed and uninsured pirate taxi drivers may approach you and offer you a ride. Ignore these drivers and only use an official taxi or licensed and insured private airport transfer.
Knowing that you will have a driver waiting for you when you arrive in Mallorca takes a lot of the stress out of travelling and has several advantages over a standard airport taxi.
The advantages of a private transfer over an airport taxi include:
👉 No waiting in a queue at the taxi rank.
👉 Selecting the type of vehicle that best suits your needs.
👉 Having your English-speaking driver waiting for you in the arrivals’ hall.
👉 The option of organising equipment such as child seats or ramps for passengers with reduced mobility.
👉 Being able to know exactly how much it is going to cost in advance.
With Mallorca being such a popular holiday destination there is no shortage of firms offering private airport transfers. Some, of course, are better than others and come highly recommended as you can see from the reviews on TripAdvisor. Our favourite, which also happens to be the number one rated private airport transfer company, is Solhop. All their vehicles are of a high standard and there are no problems if you need to cancel or change your travel plans. Best of all, you don’t need a debit or credit card to book and can pay the agreed fare after you arrive at your destination.

Binissalem is around 30 kilometres from Palma airport and the journey in a car or taxi should take you around 30 minutes.
When you come to the roundabout at the airport exit, take the first right onto the Ma-19 in the direction of Palma.
Continue along the Ma-19 until you reach the Palma ring Ma-20 road at exit 3 and continue straight until you reach exit 3B and the Ma-13 signposted Inca/Port d Alcudia/Son Castello.
Drive north along the Ma-13 until you reach Inca at junction 17 and then take exit Ma-13a at the roundabout following the signs for Binissalem.
