When leaving the airport, head in the direction of Santanyi on the MA-19 for two kilometres and then take exit 10 following the signs for Manacor MA-15. Stay on this road, taking the ring road to the right when you reach Manacor, following the signs for Calas de Mallorca. All the driving is on motorways so you should not get lost.
If you are looking to get out and explore Mallorca on your own, the best way is to hire a car at the airport. Last year, 27 million people passed through Palma International Airport so, as you would imagine, all the top car rental firms have offices at the airport.
Alamo, Hertz, Sixt, Europcar, RecordGo, Enterprise, Thrifty, Avis, Budget, Goldcar, Rhodium, Interent, Keddy by Europcar all offer airport pick up and drop off, but you could save a little money by using an off-site company such as Centauro, OK, Hiper, Wiber, Dollar and Drivalia. All of these car rental companies offer a free shuttle bus service from the airport to their lots.
Due to Mallorca being a summer holiday destination great deals on cars can be had in the winter, but in the summer the demand is so great that you are advised to book well in advance in order to get the type of vehicle you want.
Make sure to take out full insurance cover and be sure to read your rental agreement so that you can understand whether or not you should bring the car back full of fuel or not. Most operate a full when you leave the airport and full when you bring it back. If you don’t bring the car back with a full tank you will be charged a fee and have to pay a surcharge for the fuel.

Ideally placed in the southeast of Mallorca just 70 kilometres from Palma International Airport, the purpose-built modern resort of Calas de Mallorca is ideal for families looking for fun in the sun.
In recent years, most of the hotels have leaned towards offering all-inclusive holidays which have proved to be very popular with families. Younger people may find Calas a little too quiet with all the nightlife centred on hotel based entertainment, but it would certainly suit people looking for a “get-away-from-it-all” type of holiday.
Calas de Mallorca has three white sandy beaches set in coves which are easily reached by walking or taking a mini road train that stops at all the hotels along the way. Cala Domingos Gran is the largest of the three and offers all the facilities you come to expect in a Spanish holiday destination.
Excursions are available to the Caves of Drach and the Pearl Factory in Manacor as well as buses to other resorts and the nearby town of Felanitx and its popular Sunday morning market.
