Port de Pollenca is on the north coast of Mallorca and is roughly 65km/40miles from Palma airport. Pollenca old town which is inland is 60km/37miles from the airport. Public transport options include; taking a taxi or a pre-booked private transfer, taking the train part way or taking the bus. Your choice will probably depend on your budget and your available time.
If you decide to take public transport, the main transport hub is in Palma city. You will have to make your way there from Palma airport which is 8km/5miles east of the city.
A Taxi to Port de Pollenca for 1-4 persons will be on average €70-90. Fares can change in price due to the time of day, the season and the amount of luggage you have.
A taxi transfer is certainly one of the most relaxed ways to get from Palma Airport to Port de Pollenca. A taxi transfer helps you to avoid driving and also the challenge of parking. Parking can be a problem in peak season and if your accommodation is close to the port.
Palma airport taxis are found just outside the arrivals building at Palma airport. There are typically lots of taxis waiting and ready to go, but during busy periods there is the potential that you will have to queue. The taxis have a fixed price from Palma airport to Port de Pollenca. However it’s always best to get a quote before taking the taxi as some drivers may be able to justify a higher than expected price based on variables.
Bear in mind that the airport taxis to Port de Pollenca will often only take a maximum of 4 persons per taxi. This means that if you are a group of five or more, you will need to take two taxis even if the fifth person is a baby. It’s also good to bear in mind that not all airport taxis will have child safety seats on hand.
If you think a taxi transfer would be best for you at Palma airport then it might be worthwhile pre-booking a private transfer before your flight. This way you will have a driver waiting for you for when you arrive. It also could be cost-effective especially if you have a large travel group.
What if you have more than four persons in your travel group? This is possible with a pre-booked private transfer, just book a vehicle large enough for your entire family or group. Pre-booked transfer vehicles to Port de Pollenca are typically 1-7 persons – minivans or 8-20 persons – minibuses. On some of the transfer websites, it is even possible to pre-book a coach.

Buses to Port de Pollenca are air-conditioned and comfortable although it may well take an overall journey time of around 2 hours. Getting the bus to Port de Pollenca involves first getting to Palma city bus station (Intermodal Station – Plaza de Espana).
Take the Route No.1 bus from Palma airport to Palma city which cost €3. Buses go every 15 minutes on average but after 21:30 only every 30 minutes.

Bus line 340 from Palma to Port de Pollenca
At the main Palma Bus Station you will need to purchase a ticket from the bus driver on the bus. This will be €6.30 for a single journey to Port de Pollenca. The journey time from Palma city to Port de Pollenca is approximately one hour and ten minutes. The route and timetable vary slightly throughout the year, always check the latest timetable at the bus stop or the TIB website.

Alternatively there is a train from Palma intermodal station but this only goes part way to Port de Pollenca and would add an extra transport mode to the journey.
It is possible to get the 340 bus from Inca to Port de Pollenca, however this is the same bus that leaves from Palma station.
Train tickets can be purchased at the ticket offices or at the automatic ticket machines. Prices are €3.25 to Inca for an adult single ticket.
The first train from Palma to Inca leaves at 05:45 and the last train is at 21:35. Trains to Inca run about every 15-20minutes.
Once you have decided to get a hire car for your holiday to Port de Pollenca from Palma airport you just need to plan the route, it’s a relatively easy drive.
First exit the airport following the signs for Palma and join the Ma-19 to Palma city. If you had to get a shuttle bus to collect your hire car at the east of the airport then you will join the main highway by the gas station, which is just one junction further.
Continue on the Ma-19 for approximately 4.3km, 3 minutes, until junction 3 and take the Ma-20 road signposted Alcudia.
Stay on the Ma-20 for around 2 minutes, 2.6km, until junction 3 and take the Ma-13 signposted Port d’Alcudia. This junction is also signed at one point as junction 3B.
Once on the Ma-13 stay on this road for around 39km then exit at junction 40 signposted Sa Pobla and Pollenca. This is the point where the motorway ends but just before the road turns to single track carriageway.
At the roundabout take the exit on the left following the signs for Pollenca and join the Ma-2200. When you come to Pollenca, don’t go into Pollenca but stay on the same main road the Ma-2200. From here follow the signs for Port de Pollenca until you arrive.
